What can I expect from my initial consultation with your team?

During your first meeting with us, we provide a valuable opportunity for you to understand the family law process and how it pertains to your unique situation. Your dedicated solicitor will take the time to listen to your objectives and offer guidance on the available options to achieve them. Our ultimate goal is to empower you with knowledge and confidence so that you can make informed decisions and achieve favourable outcomes.

Whether you require one-time guidance or ongoing support, our initial consultations are designed to equip you with the tools you need to navigate your family law matter easily.

Will I have my own lawyer, or will I speak to a different person every time?

We follow a two-tiered approach, which involves assigning a senior solicitor to oversee your case with the assistance of a junior solicitor, law graduate, or paralegal. This ensures that you have two dedicated points of contact within our team, making it easier for you to obtain prompt assistance whenever you need it. Our focus on responsiveness is a core part of our philosophy, as we strive to provide our clients with the best possible service.

My partner and I have already agreed on property settlement and/or our children’s matters and would like a professional to formalise it. Can you help?

At Feeney Family Law, we support clients in formalising privately agreed-upon arrangements. We are pleased to assist you in achieving your goals and meeting your legal needs.

Please note that our firm operates on a policy where only one party can enter into a retainer agreement with us. We can act for one of the two parties in agreement. We will give our client advice on the agreement.

I am not currently living in Australia, can Feeney Family Law still help me?

Regardless of your location worldwide, we can assist you with Australian family law matters. We’ve designed our services to cater to the needs of clients who live or work internationally, and we take pride in being able to accommodate them. Whether through telephone or email, we ensure you receive the necessary assistance for your family law concerns.

Do I need to wait until I am separated from my partner to see a family lawyer?

Many people approach us prior to embarking on the separation journey. Our aim is to offer guidance on what you should anticipate if you choose to separate and help you formulate a comprehensive post-separation strategy. At Feeney Family Law, we place great importance on safeguarding our clients’ privacy, especially as they contemplate separation. If you require the assistance of a lawyer before making any decisions, you can rest assured that we will provide discreet and trustworthy advice.
